Did you know? If the One-Cent Tax is approved, nearly 60% of that additional revenue would come from visitors and travelers, not Tazewell County residents.
Revenue from qualifying purchases would directly support our local schools by helping fund critical safety improvements and facility upgrades.
*This means non-residents contribute to our schools, easing the financial burden on Tazewell County property taxpayers while ensuring our students and community benefit from strong, modern schools.
*Those with multiple children in school will save more than they are estimated to spend.
*Groceries, medication, automobiles, and personal services are exempt items.

Shoutout to Coach Schroeder and some representatives of the MHS boys golf team for coming to support our Junior High boys golf team at our pep rally yesterday! Our boys were very excited to see some of the high schoolers there to cheer them on!
Tomorrow our boys golf team travels to Metamora Fields to compete in the IESA State golf tournament. This is the first year in school history that the boys team has advanced to compete. Good luck, boys!
MHS senior Alexis Cook took first place in her class at the Morton Pumpkin Festival with a 359-pound pumpkin. We know the MHS Class of 2027 will do great things. It looks like they are off to a big start. Congratulations, Alexis!

Congratulations to the boys golf team for winning the first Sectional as a team in school history! The Junior Potters were led by Brooks Birkey who placed 2nd overall individually by shooting a 77. Luke Bolliger placed 8th with an 86 and Reeve Juricic placed 10th with an 89. Elijah Smith also shot well and will round out the team as they travel to Metamora Fields next Friday to compete at State. Great job, boys!
Future careers are taking shape! Our 8th graders are getting to roll up their sleeves and explore a variety of Career Maker modules—from criminalistics and sports medicine to virtual architecture, cosmetology, and dentistry!
Hands-on experiences like these give students the chance to try something new, discover their interests, and imagine what their future might look like. Who knows? We may have some future doctors, architects, forensic scientists, and entrepreneurs in the making! 👀✨
