The Blue Team consists of teachers from the areas of physical education, music, resource, and library.
The P.E. Department is looking forward to another great year and excited to share their knowledge of fitness and life-long activities to a new group of students. As in the past, the P.E. students will receive information and instruction emphasizing: physical fitness, motor development, as well as providing opportunities to develop lifelong habits of healthy living.

Mrs. Goss P.E./Team Leader
About the Teacher:
This is my 13th year of teaching physical education at MJHS. I received both my Bachelor’s degree and my Master’s degree from ISU where I currently serve on the Kinesiology and Recreation Advisory Council at ISU. My husband and I have two kids, Taylor and Luke.

Mrs. Ogden P.E.
About the Teacher:
This is my 12th year here at MJHS. I received my bachelor's degree from Illinois State University. My husband, Stan and I enjoy riding our tandem bike, gardening and spending time with our three children, Crystal, Eric, and Karen and her husband Scott.
Mission :
My goal is for my students to enjoy Physical Education by participating to the best of their abilities while learning new skills and incorporating fitness components, cooperative activities, team sports and knowledge of life-time fitness and health.

Mrs. Fitzpatrick Band
About the Teacher:
Mrs. Fitzpatrick earned her bachelors degree in music education from Bradley University and her masters in music education from Illinois State University. Along with directing the MJHS bands, she is the woodwind instructor for the MHS marching band. The 2006-07 school is Mrs. Fitzpatrick’s fifth year teaching in the Morton School District.
Mission for the Class:
To develop and enhance a musical community through independent musicianship, music performance, and music appreciation.

Mr. Breeden Choral Director
About the Teacher:
Mr. Breeden directs all junior high vocal ensembles, Morton Elementary Chorus, and the Morton High School Chorale. In addition to his duties at the junior high, he assists the high school choral director on a daily basis.
Mission: To enable a student to gain confidence as a performer through his or her increasing abilities in vocal performance. Vocal techniques such as proper breathing and support, diction, and intonation are introduced and reinforced in each ensemble. Students are also introduced to sight-reading and solfege, which involves exercises in reading rhythm and pitch.

Mrs. Jones Instructional/Resource Teacher
About the Teacher: Mrs. Jones began teaching at Morton Junior High School in 2001 as an Instructional/Resource Teacher. She is a 2001 graduate of Southern Illinois University, and is currently working on her Master's Degree from the University of Illinois.
Mission: I, Mrs. Jones, aspire to help others learn academically, emotionally, and socially. I am dedicated to fostering an educational environment that is systematic yet comfortable. I aim to maintain an optimistic outlook as an educator that builds on strengths and encourages lifelong learning.

Mrs. Andrews Library Media Specialist
About the Library Media Specialist
I am a graduate of Morton High School and Illinois State University. My husband, son, and daughter are also graduates of Morton High School. My husband and I are the proud grandparents of three beautiful girls. My oldest granddaughter is a student at Lincoln School; my middle granddaughter attends preschool at Bethel Lutheran.
I also have my master’s degree from Olivet Nazarene University. I am certified to teach language arts, social studies, and library, K-9. During the years my children were small I worked as a substitute teacher. It has been my pleasure to be librarian at Morton Junior High School since 1984.
Mission for the Class
My mission is to help the students I come in contact with each day to develop a sense of self-worth as I try to impart a lifelong love of reading. I will treat my students with respect and consideration, expecting the same behavior from them. I will endeavor to teach my students to accept responsibility for their actions and belongings.
