About the Teacher:
I am happily married to Kaylie Breaux, who teaches at Morton High School, and we have 2 young daughters. We have lived in Morton for 4 years, but this is my first year teaching at Morton Jr. High. I taught for 10 years in Peoria Public Schools before teaching in Morton. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with a Middle School Math Endorsement from Monmouth College. I received my Master's Degree in Teaching Middle School Math from Illinois State University. I am very excited about teaching in Morton and look forward to serving the students here at the Jr. High!
Mission for the Class:
My classroom is a place where students walk in the door knowing that they are deeply cared for and respected not only by the teacher but also their classmates. I am committed to building a positive classroom environment where students experience both rigor and joy in the learning process. Although I am extremely passionate about math education, I also believe a teacher cannot be successful without educating the whole student. My mission is to build students’ confidence, social-emotional skills, and overall character as we develop a deeper understanding of mathematics.
