Parents will need to create a new account in PowerSchool that allows access to all of their children's PS information in one account. The attached document explains how to create the new account.  ALL parents will have to create a new account whether they have one child or more than one.  Click here for more information.

PARENT EMAIL LISTSERV
Morton Junior High is introducing an additional way for teachers to communicate directly with parents. Parents have the opportunity to sign up for an email "listserv" through Google Groups. By signing up, parents will be able to receive emails from their child's teachers regarding general team information and upcoming school events.

Cheerleading

2009-10 Season
Parent Meeting:
  Monday, March 23 at 3:30 in the MJHS cafeteria
There will be a short clinic in the gym following the meeting to show the girls soem basic moves/steps tehy will be asked to performa at try-outs.

Clinic:  Tuesday, April 28 at 3:30-7:30 in the MJHS gym
Current 8th Grade cheerleaders and dance team members will teach 6th and 7th Grade girls the routine that they will need to perform at try-outs.

Try-Outs:  Thursday, April 30 at 4:00-7:00 in the MJHS mini gym

Coach:  Mrs. Kristen Schick, a former Junior Potter, and currently teaches 7th Grade Language Arts on the Green Team.  kristen.schick@morton709.org

CHEER SQUAD INFORMATION:

  • "Spirit Squad" refers to Dance Team and Cheerleaders (combined)
  • Typical season lasts from August - January (season may be extended due to tournament advancement)
  • Performances are during halftime of the 7th and 8th grade boys home basketball games
  • Attend summer camp (TBA).
  • Attend the Morton Pumpkin Festival Parade and the MHS Homecoming Parade
  • Members must maintain passing grades in all subjects throughout the school year
  • Must be able to pay for:  turtle neck, briefs, shoes, socks, shorts, t-shirt, warm-up suit, and duffle bag.

MJHS CHEERLEADER INFORMATION:

 

  • Cheer at all girls and boys home basketball games and at state series tournaments
  • May only tryout for softball and track; may NOT tryout for cross-country, basketball, and volleyball

·         Practice times to be announced later
Attend 3-day summer camp (approximately $142)

  • Attend the Morton Pumpkin Festival Parade and the MHS Homecoming Parade
  • Additional costs:  briefs, shoes, socks, shorts, t-shirts, warm-up suit, duffle bag - participation will not be denied due to financial concerns
  • Maintain passing grades in all subjects throughout the school year
